Siúan Póirtéir is the project coordinator for this AHRC/Global Challenges project.

She organised our June 2017 conference ‘Debating Feminist Perspectives on Commemoration, Symbolic Reparation, and the Arts’ at King’s College London alongside Jelke Boesten and is currently in charge of maintaining genderjusticememory’s online presence.

She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2016 with an MA in Spanish and English Literature, and has recently completed the MA in Gender Studies programme at SOAS, University of London, where her research focused on the use of feminist theatre as a tool to reclaim women’s memories in the transitional contexts of Colombia and South Africa.

In addition to her academic work, she is involved in feminist activism through her work with North London Rape Crisis, where she holds the position of Independent Sexual Violence Advisor and provides support for survivors interested in reporting sexual violence and throughout the criminal justice process in the UK.
