Sheena Gimase Magenya is a Kenyan born, African feminist with history and experience in the intersection of social justice with media and communication. She is especially interested in the lives of African women, particularly the role of sexuality, it’s oppression and emancipation in relation to the lived realities of women. She wholly believes in the power of storytelling as a transformative tool and process, and the written/spoken work as tools for transitional justice. She is completing a Master’s in Creative Writing at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, and works at the Coalition of African Lesbians.
